Dedication

This book is dedicated to my five pillars of strength and inspiration: my
parents,Wilfredo and Elsa Vega, who have infused me with never-ending
love, support, and the confidence to reach for the stars at a very early age;
my daughter, Julianna, and son, Christian, who light up my world even in
the dimmest of times and who add loving significance to the term “working
mother”; and finally my husband, business partner, and childhood friend,
Stephen Brown, whose unconditional devotion allows me to soar to new
heights. Together we have made it!

In loving memory of Sharon Stutman, my mentor-friend; and my
mother-in-law, Frances Brown: two women whose nurturing ways
taught me patience, persistence, and compassion.
